Autumn at The Waggon

What a lovely long, hot summer we've had – but now it looks like the seasons are finally changing. After a glorious few months we’re  starting to feel that first nip in the air and the weather forecast for the weekend is getting cooler. Here are some things we’re looking forward to now at The Waggon & Horses:

  • Hot soup & chunky bread. Could there be anything nicer? After a satisfying but chilly walk in the open air, come in, warm up and order your favourite tipple along with some real comfort food.  Our executive chef, Steve Paton shares his recipe for Butternut Squash with toasted pumpkin seeds and pepper crispy Kale here -

  • Lighting the fires. There’s nothing that can quite beat a real log fire and there’s something very comforting about those dancing flames

  • Gearing up for Bonfire Night.  Yes, we know it’s still a little early – but Bonfire Night is a great institution and one of the highlights of autumn. The countdown starts now to our Bonfire Night disco on Saturday November 3rd!

  • Other Autumn activities.  As well as Bonfire Night we're arranging a trip to "Countryside Day' at Aintree Races on Sunday 28th October, hosting a Children's Halloween Disco on Wednesday 31st October and already advertising our Christmas Party nights & family events during December
