Our Waggon Community

A village pub with great food and friendly atmosphere.
Myself and Wendy have been regulars in the pub and over the years we have built a friendship group that no one could put a value on – we have celebrated many family occasions at the pub and it has truly been ‘our third place’. We go to work, go home and then the Waggon. It’s been our sanctuary and location for fun for some 15 years. In July 2018 we felt compelled to take action when the pub was vacated. Feeling so passionate about the place we agreed to take on the tenancy with the aim of making the Waggon the best village pub in the area.
We are delighted to say that Steve Paton, one of the regions finest will become Executive Chef – many of you will know Steve for his culinary skills and he will be working with me to run the business.
Our vision is to build on a country pub feel with a broad selection of beers, wines and spirits. Our menu will feature quality traditional food with a weekly specials board. All our ingredients will be sourced locally. We will be also introducing game to the specials board when in season.
We are excited about the future and hope you will support us in building The Waggon and Horses to be the best country pub in the North.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
